The Ian Parry Photojournalism Grant is dedicated to supporting the next generation of talented photojournalists as they begin their careers. This initiative provides not only crucial financial assistance but also invaluable mentorship and ongoing support to help promote the recipients’ work. Beyond the immediate benefits, the grant fosters a strong sense of community, welcoming each recipient into a network of past awardees and a wider group deeply committed to the grant’s mission and the vital role of photojournalism. Established over three decades ago in memory of photojournalist Ian Parry, who tragically passed away while on assignment in 1989 at the young age of 24, the grant holds a free and globally accessible open call each year to identify and champion new and emerging talent within the field of photojournalism.
