The Emergence Project is an annual initiative by the Glasgow Gallery of Photography, designed to support UK-based photography graduates (2022-2025) by offering a free exhibition opportunity. This project provides a vital platform for emerging photographers to gain exposure, with all printing and exhibition costs covered by GGoP. Alongside the exhibition, a zine will be produced, available for purchase, with proceeds helping to sustain future showcases. The exhibition will run alongside the British Journal of Photography’s Female in Focus exhibition, offering graduates a chance to have their work displayed in a professional gallery setting.
🏆 Selected photographers will have their work exhibited in a physical gallery space at GGoP.

📖 Selected works will be featured in an exhibition zine, available for purchase.
🎟️ Exhibition runs alongside the British Journal of Photography’s Female in Focus showcase.
The copyright of the Works remains in the creators and in them alone. The copyright of the Works during and after the exhibition remains with the Artist.
“GGOP does not have the right to make use of or bestow the high-definition files or the prints of the Works that will be used for the realization of the exhibition.”
“GGOP will not have any commercial profit from the Works that will be exhibited and it cannot exploit them at any time.”
“All photographs used by GGOP will clearly have the photographer’s credit.”
“Artists grant GGOP the right to use their images to promote the exhibition, for display on the GGOP webpage, for inclusion on social media, and for advertising or promotional materials and publications.”
“The Glasgow Gallery of Photography will not sell any photographer’s work unless given permission by the photographer.”
