Competition Details

Ethology In Focus, part of the Behaviour 2025 International Ethology Congress, invites photographers worldwide to showcase the subtle drama of animal behaviour through the lens. From dazzling displays of colour to conflict and cooperation in the wild or lab, this contest merges art with science to highlight the wonder of animal interactions. Top entries will be exhibited at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in Kolkata, India, and may gain additional media exposure through event partners.

Additional Information

Only digital images in JPEG format (sRGB) will be accepted. Image resolution should not exceed 1600 pixels on the longer side and 72 DPI, and file size should not exceed 2MB

No borders/watermarks/signatures

Entrants must follow ethical wildlife photography practices

Final decisions by the jury are binding

In exchange for participation, photographers grant the organisers a non-exclusive, worldwide license to reproduce, display, and distribute the images across all media for only contest-related purposes…

For any commercial exploitation beyond the scope of the contest, explicit written consent from the photographer must be obtained.

By participating in the contest, photographers grant the organising committee and associated partners the right to use submitted images for promotional, exhibition, and publication purposes, with appropriate credit provided.

Selected entries may be showcased on official event channels and social media platforms to celebrate and promote the contest.
