The 2025 Architecture Photography Awards are an international competition celebrating the art of architecture through photography, featuring 20 distinct categories ranging from Light & Shadow to Urban Landscapes and offering entrants global visibility through an expert jury and online gallery.
Open to both amateur and professional photographers worldwide, the Awards challenge entrants to capture compelling compositions of form, light, and space for the prestigious title of “Architecture Photographer of the Year” and a total cash prize pool of $3,000, including $1,000 for the overall winner and $100 per category winner.
Submissions will be accepted as standalone digital JPEG images, submitted through the official portal before the final deadline of July 27, 2025 (with an Early Bird discount period ending June 22, 2025), at a fee of $20 for the first entry and $10 for each additional category (early entrants receive a 15 % fee discount).
Entrants may submit a maximum of 20 images, one per category, and must own full copyright of all submitted works. All participants grant the organizers a non-exclusive license to use submitted images solely for promotional purposes online and in print, always with proper credit and with no unrelated commercial exploitation
Submission Process
All entries must be submitted via the official Architecture Photography Awards website.
Participants must register an account, select their desired categories, and upload images in accordance with the technical submission requirements:
• File format: JPEG (.jpg)
• Maximum file size: 5 MB per image
• Color profile: sRGB
• Watermarks: Not permitted
All entries must be received by the submission deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Participants are solely responsible for ensuring that all contact, payment, and submission details are accurate and complete at the time of entry.
Eligibility of Photographs
Photographs that have previously won awards or been published are eligible, provided the participant retains full copyright and the images comply with all submission guidelines.
Entries that are currently submitted to other competitions are also eligible.
Submitted images must not:
• Contain offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, or inappropriate content
• Infringe upon the rights of any third party, including copyright, privacy, or intellectual property
This is a photography competition. Images generated entirely by artificial intelligence (AI) are not permitted and will be disqualified.
AI-assisted tools (e.g. object removal or masking in Lightroom or Photoshop) are acceptable only when the final image is based on a photograph taken with a real camera and remains fundamentally photographic in nature.
Fees and Payments
Entry fees are as follows:
• $20 for the first photo
• 15% discount applied to each additional photo
• $10 per additional category for the same image
Discounts are applied automatically at checkout. Promo codes, if available, must be entered during checkout to be valid.
All payments are final and non-refundable, except in the case of verified technical issues during submission (see 10.3).
Entry fees are subject to change. The fees displayed at the time of registration on the official website are binding.
Judging Process
All entries are reviewed by an international jury of expert photographers, curators, and industry professionals.
Each image will be evaluated based on:
• Creativity
• Originality
• Technical excellence
Entries are scored on a scale of 1 to 100 by each judge. Final scores are calculated as the sum of individual scores across the jury panel.
In the case of a tie, the jury will deliberate to determine the winner based on overall impact and relevance to the category.
To ensure fairness:
• The judging process is anonymous. Photographer names are hidden.
• Judges do not have access to one another’s scores or feedback.
• Judges may not submit work to the competition.
Disqualification
The Architecture Photography Awards reserves the right to disqualify any entry that:
• Violates the submission guidelines or Terms & Conditions
• Contains offensive or inappropriate material
• Infringes upon third-party rights, including copyright or privacy
Disqualified entries are not eligible for refunds.
Liability
The Architecture Photography Awards is not responsible for:
• Lost, corrupted, or incorrectly uploaded files
• Technical issues outside of our control during the submission process
• Legal disputes regarding image rights or third-party claims
By entering, participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Architecture Photography Awards, its organizers, and partners against any claims or damages arising from their submissions.

Credit will always be given to the photographer whenever their work is used.
If you wish to limit the usage of your image(s) for any reason, you must notify the Architecture Photography Awards in writing before submission.
